Será que estamos todos na Matrix?

"Last week the astronomer royal, Sir Martin Rees, commented on a new theory that suggests our universe might be nothing more than a computer simulation developed by a super-advanced civilisation. This would make humans nothing more than virtual creatures in a Matrix-like environment.
By discussing the hypothesis of virtual universes Rees was touching on one of the most fundamental questions in science, namely: where did the universe come from?"

Esta é uma pergunta para a qual nem encontro resposta, nem consigo, ainda, compreender as respostas que outros dão. Tais como a Teoria do Big Bang (e o que provocou o Bang?), ou a Teoria do Metaverso, ou, ainda, a do Desenho Inteligente (muito apreciada pelos eleitores de Bush e que visa substituir Biologia Evolucionista, por Creationism), ou, por último, Panspermia (que defende que as sementes da vida são prevalentes em todo o Universo).

Ao menos, a Teoria da Matrix faz-nos sonhar que um dia uma civilização muito, muito avançada virá salvar-nos.

Santo Agostinho, um homem muito pragmático nas suas Confissões escreveu o seguinte, que se aplica àqueles, que como eu não se dão por satisfeitos, ou elucidados com as respostas em cima da mesa: "in answer to the theological equivalent of “What came before the Big Bang?”, namely “What was God doing before He created the universe?”, states: “Before He created Heaven and Earth, God created hell to be used for people such as you who ask this kind of question.”
